Saad Qaisar, Ph.D., is lead researcher at Communications, Networks and Multimedia Laboratory at NUST. I work at intersection of Communications, Networks and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning under bigger theme of Cyber Physical Systems. I have worked on numerous projects including the development of a National Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), Safety Assurance in High Stress Environments and Oil and Gas Installation Monitoring Using Wireless Sensor Networks. The LIMS project was conducted in coordination with 15 national and provincial veterinary laboratories with counterparts at USDA, UNFAO, Texas A&M USA and NVL, Islamabad. Safety Assurance project saw a testbed developed for mine and miner safety that has seen its initial trials at Khewra Salt Mines. Oil and Gas project saw development of a wireless data aggregator interface device. In addition to successful execution of these projects, I have developed numerous partnerships and collaborations with national and international collaborators at Lahore University of Management Sciences, Georgia Institute of Technology, USA on fundamental and applied aspects of my research with a rich set of publications. Numerous of my mentee undergraduate and graduate students working under my supervision have landed funded positions at reputable universities and industry such as Carnegie Melon University, National University of Singapore, Rutgers, EPFL, TU-Munich, Michigan State University, Samsung etc. Our research on Sports Biomechanics has gotten featured in IEEE Spectrum and Wisden Cricket Magazine.
His current research interest Communication Networks, IoT, Sensing, Software-Defined Networking
